About Us

Vaughn Body Arts offers the largest selection in Monterey County of fine jewelry made from solid gold, platinum, implant grade titanium, implant grade steel, and glass from manufacturers such as BVLA, Anatometal, NeoMetal, Intrinsic and many more.

We offer the cleanest settings, sterilization with autoclaves that are tested weekly by a third party, and provide the best customer service to ensure your experience is unforgettable. We are also a fully-disposable studio, meaning everything that is used for a persons service is discarded afterwards. All of our staff are certified annually for their Bloodborne Pathogen training. All of our piercers are members of The Association of Professional Piercers.

We are open every day by appointment.

Appointments are required for all piercings and jewelry change outs.

Preparing for Your Visit

Preparing for Your Visit

Preparing for Your visit

Most of our clients do not get basic jewelry, as we have a lot of really beautiful jewelry to choose from.  We carry a huge selection of Anatometal (www.anatometal.com) and BVLA (www.bvla.com) jewelry, so you will have a lot of options to choose from.

We also need to do a consultation with you about your individual anatomy.  Lots of piercings require very specific anatomy to be able to be performed successfully. We do your consultation/anatomy check during your appointment and we can pierce you the same day as your consultation/anatomy check.

Appointments are required for all piercings and jewelry change outs.

Be sure to bring the appropriate ID's and/or documentation with you, we cannot pierce you without them! That means a physical in-hand ID and/or documentation (pictures or emails on your phone are not accepted). Any person being pierced will have their ID/paperwork scanned into our POS system.

Our ID requirements if the person being pierced is of age (18+):

-       State/Government issued photo ID (driver’s license, identification card, passport)

If the person being pierced is a minor:

-       State/Government issued photo ID from legal guardian and minor
(Last names and addresses must match. If they do not, please bring a copy of the minor’s birth certificate as well)

- If the minor does not yet have a State/Government issued photo ID, then they can bring a current school ID and a
copy of their birth certificate

-       If the minor’s legal guardian is somebody other than their mother or father, please bring notarized or court paperwork
proving guardianship

- Please note that we *cannot* use military ID’s (legally they cannot be copied or duplicated in any way)

We do not pierce anything besides earlobes on children under 14. Earlobes are offered at 5 years old and up.

No unsupervised children are allowed in the studio.

We do not install or pierce with jewelry purchased elsewhere.

We do not offer genital, nipple, surface piercings, or large gauge piercings to clients under 18, even with parental consent. Oral piercings on minors 14-17 are at the piercers discretion.

We love piercing children's earlobes, but only when they're old enough to talk with us and express that they want the piercing and understand how to take proper care of a new piercing. Children’s earlobes are done at the piercers discretion.

Thank you again for considering us for your piercing needs!  We hope to see you soon!

Appointments are required for all piercings and jewelry change outs.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety

Health & Safety

Here at Vaughn Body Arts, our clients safety and the cleanliness of the piercing services we provide are top priority.

We always sterilize all jewelry, instruments, single use needles and any other items we use for your piercing right in front of you just prior to your piercing, utilizing sterilizers that are made for processing hollow items (such as jewelry, needles, etc.). Not all sterilizers can process hollow items.

We are also a fully-disposable studio, meaning everything we use during a persons service is discarded afterward. So every single item being used during your appointment is brand new and just for you!

We also have a test strip called a class 5 integrator that runs with every sterilization cycle. These integrators monitor for temperature, pressure and exposure time. They provide a white bar that climbs black into either a “fail” or “pass” section on the strip and we show that to you before we pierce you, so you know everything sterilized properly.

In addition, we also do biological spore testing on all of our sterilizers on a weekly basis. The spores strips are ran through our sterilizers, then they are sent to Mesa Labs where their laboratory tests the spore strips to ensure our sterilizers are working properly.

Whether you get pierced by us or not, we just want you to be pierced safely, so here is a checklist provided by the Association of Professional Piercers (www.safepiercing.org) to help you find a safe piercing studio and a qualified piercer:

●       ask to see their autoclave (sterilizer)

●       ask to see recent spore test results, they should say “pass”.

●       does the piercer provide aftercare guidelines?

●       is the studio well-kept and clean?

●       does the studio have a license to operate?

●       check portfolios: are the piercings healthy and well placed?

●       do they use only internally threaded or threadless jewelry for initial piercing?

For more information, take a moment to read this “Picking A Piercer” brochure from The Association of Professional Piercers.

Hello everyone. My name is Carter (he/him), and I’m a jewelry specialist here at Vaughn Body Arts. I joined the team in 2021.

I have loved body piercings since I can remember, and I am more than happy to talk about piercings and jewelry all day. My love for the arts and creativity have guided me in sharing my knowledge and tips for styling jewelry combinations for guests. I got my AS in Fashion Design and my AA in photography in 2014. Piercing safety has always been important to me, and I am proud to be a member of the APP since 2022.

I look forward to helping you select the appropriate jewelry for your new piercing, whether it’s your first one, or a new addition to your existing collection.

Hola.

Hi! My name is Adriana (she/her) and I'm a Piercing Apprentice at Vaughn Body Arts. I joined the team in 2020 as a Jewelry Specialist.

My love for body jewelry began when I got my first piercing as an adult at VBA. It's an absolute treat to now share my passion with customers and continue learning from all of the highly qualified team members.

Whether you prefer to browse until you see your dream piece or are open to suggestions, I'm happy to support you along the way. In collaboration with one of the piercers, we will help you select or custom order a timeless piece that will complement your anatomy and style. It will be an honor to complete my piercing educational goals with your support and trust.

I have been an APP Associate Member since 2020.

¡Hola! Me llamo Adriana. Soy un aprendiz en Vaughn Body Arts. Entiendo que se requiere de mucho valor para tomar el primer paso para hacerte un piercing/perforacion y programar una cita sin saber que alguien estará a tu lado que hable tu idioma. No te preocupes. ¡Estoy aquí para ayudarte!
